Support Worker Roles – Bradford | Driving Licence a Bonus

We’re growing! Active Care Group’s Care in the Home – North Division is expanding, and we’re looking for compassionate, proactive Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Bradford.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and helping others live independently in their own homes, we want to hear from you!

Why Join Us?

At Active Care Group, we believe care is more than a job—it’s a calling. Every day, our team brings warmth, reliability, and professionalism to the people we support. You'll be part of a supportive team that truly values what you do.

Meet the Client

Our client has an acquired brain injury and currently lives in Bradford with his wife, her family and the family cat. He is generally physically independent but benefits from person-centred support and practical guidance with everyday activities, including planning his week, shopping, meal preparation, healthy routines, budgeting, managing correspondence and appointments, and accessing social and community opportunities.

The role is about getting to know our client, understanding his preferences and working alongside him to build confidence, maintain independence and support him to make his own choices.

We are currently supporting him with a move to a new home. Initially, the Support Worker will help with shopping for the property and gradually support him with moving in and settling into his new surroundings, following guidance from the Occupational Therapist (OT).

Shifts:

  • 5 hours per day available Monday - Friday

What You'll Be Doing:

As this is primarily a support role rather than traditional personal care, I would make the responsibilities more specific to the client:

  • Providing practical, person-centred support with everyday activities.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, dignity and choice.
  • Supporting with planning, shopping, meal preparation and accessing the community.
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship while respecting the client's preferences and decisions.

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client.

About You:

  • Naturally kind, compassionate, and dependable
  •  Passionate about promoting independence, respecting individual choices and supporting people to have as much control over their lives as possible.
  • A great communicator and thoughtful listener
  • A driving licence is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Experienced or eager to learn in care roles
  • Passionate about supporting others with respect and empathy
  •  Able to maintain professional boundaries and work respectfully with the client and their family.

Why It Matters:

Your presence, positivity, and patience can brighten someone's world—and we’ll support you every step of the way. If you're ready to be part of something meaningful, come grow with us.

What we can offer you:

  • Earn up to £15 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Zero-hours contract offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
  • An additional 14.07% holiday pay on every hour worked.
  • Excellent Training from our Learning Hub and Clinical training from our Nurses
  • Paid DBS Check
  • Regular consistent work with set rolling rotas
  • A Nest Personal Pension account
  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1000 by recommending someone you know
  • support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group
