About this role

Are you looking for a role for term time only, for school hours Monday-Friday 8.15am-3.15pm?

Would you love a rewarding role, supporting our teenage client with complex health needs at her school?

Join Active Assistance and support our 17 year old female client at her school in Shrewsbury.

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to build a trusted connection with one child and make a genuine difference in her life.

About the role:

This role is to support our 17 year old female client with complex health needs at her school.

Our client is a wheelchair user, requires personal care, requires insulin and has a gastrostomy. She does different therapies, and we are looking for a candidate who is willing to learn her communication aids, and someone who will keep her engaged and occupied. You also need to be willing to do swimming with her as that is one of her therapies.

When you will be working:

  • Term time only
  • Monday-Friday, 8.45am-3.15pm

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client.

What to look forward to:

  • Earn up to £13 per hour (depending on experience) - you’ll also receive an additional 14.07% holiday pay on every hour worked
  • Advanced monthly rotas
  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from your Care Manager
  • Access to the Active Learning Hub – e-learning & in-person development
  • Nest pension
  • Be recognised through our Active Awards programme
  • Refer a friend and earn up to £1,500
  • A chance to build a meaningful career with the backing of a leading clinical and business team
