About this role

Are you looking for a Children's Support Worker role, for Tuesday and Thursday early evenings (3pm-7pm) and Saturdays? (Sleeping nights also available).

Would you love a rewarding role, supporting our young client with complex health needs in their family home?

Join Active Care in the Home, and become part of a rewarding new care team supporting our new young client in Penarth.

This is more than just a job — it’s a chance to build a trusted connection with one individual and make a genuine difference in their life.

About the role:

Active Care in the Home are expanding our client base, and have a new children's care package in Penarth.

This role is to support our brand new client, an 11 year old girl, in her family home and out in the community. Our client has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, has a VP shunt, and is non-verbal and has behavioural challenges. You will be working alongside another support worker for all shifts (2:1 care). One of the Support Workers on shift will be a driver and drive the client’s vehicle.

Full specialist training will be provided.

When you will be working:

  • Tuesday and Thursday evenings (3pm-7pm) and Saturdays (7hr long day shift) - please note that this is for term time and in school holiday time will change to Tues/Thurs/Sat 12pm-5pm
  • We will also have sleeping nights (10pm-8am) available from October

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.

What to look forward to:

  • Earn up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from your Care Manager

  • Access to the Active Learning Hub – e-learning & in-person development

  • Holiday pay, regular monthly rotas, and a Nest pension

  • Be recognised through our Active Awards programme

  • Refer a friend and earn up to £1,500

  • A chance to build a meaningful career with the backing of a leading clinical and business team
