Occupational Therapist
You'll be taken to our application system to complete your application.
About this role
Come and join one of the UK’s largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.
Make a lasting difference. Help people rediscover what they're capable of.
At Active Neuro, we believe rehabilitation should be about more than recovery – it's about helping people rebuild their confidence, regain independence and return to the activities that make life meaningful.
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working with adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions and complex rehabilitation needs, you'll have the opportunity to deliver creative, individually tailored therapy that makes a genuine difference to people's lives.
Whether you're helping someone regain the confidence to cook independently, return to a much-loved hobby, enjoy time with family or develop new ways of managing everyday activities, you'll play an important part in their rehabilitation journey.
Why choose Active Neuro?
At Hothfield, you'll be part of an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, working with a diverse caseload that includes acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, polytrauma, amputations and catastrophic injuries.
Unlike services restricted by short rehabilitation pathways, our work with NHS, private and medicolegal clients allows us to focus on meaningful, longer-term outcomes and rehabilitation that is shaped around each individual.
You'll have access to:
Specialist rehabilitation technology, including Luna, Exo Motus and Arm Motus, to support innovative and engaging therapy.
A varied and rewarding caseload, offering the opportunity to develop your clinical expertise across complex neurological presentations.
A collaborative MDT, working alongside experienced Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists.
Personalised CPD and development, with opportunities to expand your skills in cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation, functional upper and lower limb therapy, ADL recovery, splinting, adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
Professional development opportunities, including conferences and external networking events with organisations such as Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association.
Opportunities to influence service development, contribute ideas and help shape the future of rehabilitation at Hothfield.
Wider collaboration across Active Neuro, giving you access to a broader network of therapy professionals and opportunities to share knowledge and best practice.
About the role
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll take an active role in assessing, planning and delivering specialist rehabilitation programmes, helping clients achieve their individual goals and maximise their functional independence.
You'll have the autonomy to use your clinical reasoning and creativity to develop engaging interventions that reflect each person's abilities, interests and aspirations.
You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of the therapy service as Hothfield continues its transition towards a seven-day model of care. This will involve occasional pre-arranged weekend working and Bank Holiday working as required, with enhanced pay for Bank Holidays in line with company policy.
Key responsibilities
- Complete specialist occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised rehabilitation plans for clients with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve functional independence, cognitive and perceptual skills, daily living abilities and participation in meaningful activities.
- Use innovative and creative approaches to engage clients and support progress towards their personal goals.
- Work closely with the wider MDT to coordinate holistic rehabilitation, contribute to clinical discussions and support effective discharge planning.
- Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes and adapt interventions to meet changing rehabilitation needs.
- Provide guidance, education and support to clients, families and carers throughout the rehabilitation journey.
- Supervise and mentor junior colleagues and students, sharing knowledge and promoting high standards of clinical practice.
- Contribute to service development, clinical improvement and the continued development of occupational therapy provision.
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from Occupational Therapists who are passionate about neurological rehabilitation and committed to helping people achieve meaningful outcomes.

- Previous experience working within a neurorehabilitation or neurological setting.

- Experience supporting, supervising or mentoring junior colleagues or students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A creative, flexible and person-centred approach to rehabilitation.
Experience within private healthcare, independent rehabilitation services or working with medicolegal clients would be advantageous.
