Active Neuro is seeking an experienced Consultant to provide specialist medical leadership for our stroke rehabilitation pathway.

This is an opportunity for a senior clinician to combine clinical expertise with strategic influence, helping us refine our approach to the care and treatment of individuals requiring rehabilitation following a stroke.

Working with our clinical and leadership teams, you will support the development of a clinically robust, person-centred pathway that promotes meaningful recovery and independence.

Active Neuro 

Active Neuro delivers intensive, clinically led neurorehabilitation across a connected network of specialist centres, recognised as Specialist Services Provider of the Year 2026. We combine specialist expertise with modern rehabilitation technology to help people regain function, independence and quality of life. Our service often acts as the bridge between acute hospital care, medical stabilisation, intensive rehabilitation, and returning home or moving into the next appropriate setting.

The role

You will:

• Provide strategic clinical leadership and specialist advice for our stroke rehabilitation pathway.
• Visit Active Neuro services to support clinical teams, review practice and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help refine assessment, treatment and rehabilitation approaches, drawing on evidence and specialist experience.
• Support multidisciplinary teams with clinical decision-making and complex rehabilitation needs.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and the evaluation of rehabilitation outcomes.
• Bring an understanding of private rehabilitation and Private Medical Insurer requirements to pathway development and clinical discussions.

About you

You will be a senior Consultant with a relevant Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and demonstrable expertise in stroke rehabilitation.

You will also bring:

• Experience of working within private rehabilitation settings.
• Experience of working with Private Medical Insurers.
• Evidence of clinical leadership and the ability to translate specialist knowledge into improvements in care.
• A collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams and service leaders.
• The ability to provide strategic direction alongside practical clinical support.
• Availability to visit services across Active Neuro as part of the role.

The commitment

The role is one day per week, with remuneration of £40,000 per annum, combining service visits with strategic clinical support.
