About this role

Are you ready for a rewarding role where your personality can make a real difference?

Are you a confident, compassionate and energetic Support Worker who enjoys staying active, having a laugh and making a genuine difference?

We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable Female Support Workers to join our 2:1 support team in Rainham, Essex, supporting a young woman living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).

We're looking for someone who brings patience, positivity, confidence and a great sense of humour to every shift.

Meet the client:

Our client is an active young woman who enjoys keeping busy, getting out into the community and having a clear plan for her day.

She thrives on routine and structure but also loves opportunities to enjoy her favourite activities and experience new things.

Here's a little glimpse into what she enjoys:

  • Music and spending time outdoors
  • Keeping fit – gym three times a week, weekly yoga and swimming
  • Animals and spending time with the family dog
  • Trying new activities that bring enjoyment and a sense of achievement

Family is an important part of her life. She lives at home with her mum, two siblings and their family dog. She also spends two nights each week with her dad, so you'll be providing support across both family homes.

What does the role involve?

Every day brings opportunities to make a positive difference, but we're also looking for someone who understands that some days may be more challenging than others.

Due to her Acquired Brain Injury, our client can sometimes experience periods of significant emotional distress. During these moments, she may shout, swear or move her arms forcefully.

She needs Support Workers who can remain calm, confident, patient and reassuring, recognising that these behaviours are expressions of distress rather than something to take personally.

Just as importantly, she wants to be recognised for who she is as an individual, not defined by her disability.

You'll play an important part in helping her access everyday activities and inclusive community experiences where she feels comfortable, valued and able to be herself.

When you'll be working:

Day shifts: 7:00am – 6:00pm

Available days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

You'll be working as part of a 2:1 support team, providing consistent, person-centred care across both family homes and within the community.

This is an opportunity to become part of a familiar, supportive team and build a trusting relationship with the person you support.

Please note: As part of our recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to attend a meet and greet with our client and her family before starting the role.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident and compassionate – calm and reassuring during challenging moments
  • Positive and fun-loving – someone with a good sense of humour who enjoys friendly banter
  • Active and enthusiastic – happy to get involved in gym visits, swimming, yoga and days out
  • Patient and reliable – understanding the importance of consistency and routine
  • Proactive and person-centred – encouraging independence, choice and dignity
  • Emotionally resilient – able to remain composed and supportive when situations become challenging
  • A team player – comfortable working closely with colleagues and family members

ABI experience is desirable, but the right attitude and personality are just as important.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What to look forward to:

  • Up to £18.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Paid DBS Check & Induction Training
  • Consistent work schedule
  • Holiday pay & Nest pension
  • Active Awards recognition programme
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme (earn up to £1,000!)
  • Incredible support from our clinical and business leadership team

*Please note we are recruiting a Female Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part Schedule 9
