Looking for more than just another care job?

We're recruiting Night Support Workers to join an established team supporting a sociable gentleman with a brain injury and complex health needs in his own home. He enjoys music, creative activities, being outdoors and spending time with family, and you'll help him get the most from everyday life while continuing his rehabilitation.

What you'll be working

  • Either 2 or 4 x 10-hour night shifts per week
  • Predominantly nights, with some day cover where required
  • Approximately four weeks of daytime shadowing during induction
  • Bank opportunities available.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide person-centred support across daily living, personal care and rehabilitation. This includes supporting activities, medication and nutrition via PEG-J, moving and handling, therapy programmes and getting out into the community. You'll also drive the client's wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Full training is provided.

What you'll bring

More than anything, we're looking for someone kind, reliable, respectful and enthusiastic who can build a positive relationship with the client and his family.

You'll need:

  • A clean manual driving licence
  • Confidence driving a wheelchair-accessible vehicle
  • A flexible and adaptable approach
  • The physical ability to support personal care, moving and handling and wheelchair use
  • Good written communication and basic computer skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine interest in supporting someone to live a fulfilling life.

‘Experience of complex care and supporting someone with a brain injury, epilepsy or non-verbal communication would be beneficial. Previous care experience is essential. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided’

What you'll get

£16.00 per hour, increasing to £32.00 per hour on Bank Holidays, plus paid annual leave, workplace pension where applicable, paid training, paid team meetings and supervision, and ongoing specialist training and support.
