About this role
Are you looking for a Live in Care role?
Would you love a rewarding role, supporting our client with complex health needs in his own home?
Active Assistance – Specialist Complex Care at Home Across the UK
For over 30 years, we’ve been providing compassionate, person-centred care that makes a genuine difference to the lives of individuals and their families across England.
Our approach is simple: support people to live safely, comfortably and as independently as possible in the place they call home.
We'd like you to join us as a Support Worker at our clients home based in Erdington.
In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client.
Meet the client:
Our client is a friendly, sociable and easy-going gentleman with a C5 spinal cord injury, who lives at home with his parents. He has a great sense of humour, enjoys a bit of banter, and likes spending time with family and friends, watching films, socialising and getting out into the community.
This is a live-in Support Worker role, providing dedicated 1:1, person-centred support within his home and community. Maintaining his independence is very important to him, and he likes to take an active role in decisions about his care and daily life.
He requires support with personal care, moving and handling, catheter and bowel management, meal preparation and other daily living tasks. He is knowledgeable about his care needs and works closely with his Support Worker to ensure his care is provided safely, respectfully and in a way that promotes his independence.
We are looking for a reliable, respectful and professional Support Worker with good communication skills and a positive attitude. Someone who is comfortable working alongside the client and his family, while building a trusting and respectful relationship.
Our client is a non-smoker and would appreciate a Support Worker who respects this preference. Support Workers must also only eathalal meat while on assignment, and it is important that his cultural and religious preferences are respected.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful, person-centred live-in support, helping our client maintain his independence, dignity and quality of life while enjoying the things that matter most to him.
When you'll be working:
- Rolling rota 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Living in the client’s home 24/7 when on shift
- Enjoy regular consistent work with rolling rota while making a real difference in someone’s life.
What you'll have:
- Kind and caring nature
- Flexibility & reliability
- Good communication skills
What you’ll get
- Earn up to £130 per day (dependant on experience and qualifications)
- Zero-hours contract offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
