Active Assistance – Specialist Complex Care at Home Across the UK

For over 30 years, we’ve been providing compassionate, person-centred care that makes a genuine difference to the lives of individuals and their families across England.

Our approach is simple: support people to live safely, comfortably and as independently as possible in the place they call home.

We’re now looking for a Female Bank Support Worker to join our dedicated care team supporting our client in her home in Redditch.

In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client.

Meet the client:

Our client is a warm, friendly lady who lives in a peaceful area of Redditch with her son, a polite young man with autism, and their two much-loved cats.

She is living with a spinal cord injury and requires support with her daily care, including tracheostomy and ventilator support, Type 2 diabetes, personal care and safe moving and handling.

Her care team plays an important role in helping her remain comfortable, safe and independent at home. She uses a ceiling hoist for all transfers between her bed and chair, with slide sheets used for repositioning in bed, in line with her care plan and current risk assessments.

She is able to feed herself independently and simply needs support workers to prepare and position her meals, drinks and cutlery within easy reach. Once everything is set up, she is happy to enjoy her meal independently.

Outside of her care needs, she loves gardening and enjoys having a supportive team around her. She values honesty, openness, respect and kindness, and believes strongly in working together as a team.

We're looking for someone who shares these values, is compassionate and reliable, and understands the importance of building a genuine, respectful relationship while supporting her to live life on her own terms.
