Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a supportive and dynamic work environment? Holybourne Hospital, part of the Active Care Group, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our multidisciplinary team.

About the service

Holybourne Hospital is a mental health hospital for adults of all genders with severe and complex mental health conditions. Based in Roehampton, London, we provide high quality intensive treatment in a clinically safe, caring, and secure environment for up to 37 patients across four specialist wards.

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), contributing occupational therapy expertise to ensure we deliver outstanding assessment, care planning and support for the young people in our care.
  • Assess, plan, and implement person-centred therapeutic interventions.
  • Empower individuals over the age of 18 to achieve recovery and independence, including those admitted informally or detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007).
  • Provide care for individuals requiring detoxification from alcohol or drugs or those under a revoked Community Treatment Order (CTO).
  • Contribute to the effective running of MDTs by performing key functions, such as liaising with families, CPAs, minute-taking etc.
  • Assist with the training of care staff and others in the principles of occupational therapy, so that an understanding of occupational therapy underpins the work of the care teams.
  • Keep records as required and contribute to the provision of high-quality management information across the hospital.
  • Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights.

 

What you'll have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of working within a mental health inpatient setting would be advantageous
  • A collaborative approach to care delivery
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for improving the lives of people with complex needs
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
