At Kings Norton Hospital, we are committed to ensuring that the voices of the individuals who use mental health services are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an Expert by Experience to join our team and play an important role in shaping how our service develops.
This is a unique opportunity to use your personal insight to influence care, support service improvements and help ensure that the voices of patients are heard in the decisions we make every day.

What you'll be doing:
- Working with the Hospital Director and senior leadership team to review and develop services from a patient perspective.
- Sharing your lived experience to help colleagues better understand the experiences of those accessing mental health services.
- Supporting training, induction and awareness sessions for colleagues.
- Contributing to the development of policies, procedures and service improvement initiatives.
- Taking part in recruitment activities and interview panels, helping us identify candidates who demonstrate the values and qualities that matter most to patients.
- Acting as an advocate for patient voice, ensuring lived experience is represented in discussions and decision-making.

- Feel comfortable sharing their experiences in a thoughtful, constructive and positive way.
- Are passionate about helping improve services and outcomes for others.
- Have good communication and listening skills.
- Can work collaboratively with a range of people, including healthcare professionals and senior leaders.
- Understand the importance of dignity, respect, equality, diversity and person-centred care.
- Are able to reflect on their experiences and use them to support meaningful change.
Previous employment experience is not essential. The value you bring to this role comes from your lived experience, insight and perspective.
